For the last three months, I have been interning at Lenis Model Management. A little bit away from my usual Fashion PR, but it was good to see the other side, especially with my role being admin I got to do a lot of everything. It was really good to see the model side of the industry, but it really showed me how un-glamorous it really is.
Models work really hard, with a busy schedule, running around all day trying to make it to castings , test shoots and especially during this time fashion week preparations, it really isn't a glamorous job away from the camera and the eye of the public.
As for the Booker's, they work so hard in getting the girls jobs they want and deserve. With all the hard work put into it, it can be really disheartening for both the Booker and the girl, when they don't get the job, but that is the cut throat nature of it all.
The team at Lenis are all so lovely, they taught me so much about the model industry and how it all works, I will think differently next time I am working with a PR team casting models. On the plus side they are always looking for interns to join them its a great opportunity for anyone in fashion and i would definitely recommend it.
